Blue Card Liaison Service
A co-designed initiative between the Palm Island Community Company and Blue Card Services, the Blue Card Liaison Officer connects and empowers applicants and organisations to confidently navigate the Blue Card system, improving accessibility for applicants, employers, and community, and promoting successful outcomes for safe, regulated employment.
Purpose
- To provide culturally appropriate and accessible support for individuals and organisations engaging with the Blue Card system.
- To act as a bridge between communities and Blue Card Services, ensuring applicants and organisations understand their responsibilities and processes.
- To deliver one-on-one guidance that makes Blue Card Services easy to understand.
Objectives
- Support for the applicants:
- Help individuals understand the Blue Card system.
- Ensure applicants are informed about requirements and legal considerations.
- Support for the organisations:
- Educate organisations about their responsibilities under the Blue Card framework.
- Promote accountability by teaching organisations how to monitor the Blue Card status for their paid and volunteer staff in regulated employment.
- Ongoing education:
- Provide continuous engagement with organisations and individuals.
- Deliver clear information about eligibility, individual and employer Blue Card requirements.
- Encourage proactive participation in regulated employment.
Outcomes
- Applicants:
- Increased confidence and clarity in navigating the Blue Card process and the Applicant Portal.
- Higher rates of successful applications leading to valid Blue Cards.
- To work or volunteer in regulated employment.
- Organisations:
- Improved compliance with Blue Card requirements.
- Effective use of the Organisation Portal for monitoring and accountability.
- Stronger capacity to support safe, regulated employment environments.
